Warner Bros. Montreal has been playing cat and mouse for some time with Batman fans, giving us different clues about the announcement of a new video game of Gotham's Dark Knight. And now you can say hello to Gotham Knights.
A few hours ago all the mysteries came to an end at the DC Fandome, the event that brings together DC fans from around the world, this time virtually.
And in the process, we have finally seen the first trailer from Gotham Knights, the new game set in the DC universe that will arrive in 2021 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Although the game is set in Gotham, we will not get to play Batman who, it seems, has passed away, but we will have to turn one of Bruce Wayne's Bat Family members into the new hero of Gotham: Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing and Red Hood. Of course, there's always the possibility of a plot twist.
The description of the trailer on YouTube reads:
"Batman is dead. It is now up to the Batman Family - Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin - to protect Gotham City, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. You must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save Gotham from chaos."

The New 'Batman' Game Was Rumored Back in 2018
Although Warner Bros. Montreal started with the Gotham Knights promotional campaign just a few days ago, the truth is that rumors about the game have been with us for a long time.
More specifically, since 2018, they began to talk about a new game that would revolve around the Court of Owls that has appeared in several of the images prior to the announcement of this game in recent days.
Previously, Warner Bros. Montreal published on its official Twitter account a mysterious video of just 25 seconds to give clues about their new Batman game, which we now know is called Gotham Knights.
The rumors about this game date back to 2018, the year in which details of this new Batman game began to leak, which at that time was known as 'Batman: Arkham Legacy'.

In addition to some details of its playability, one of the things that attracted the most attention was the detail that this new game will be an adaptation of The Court of Owls, an interesting story arc from the Gotham detective comic series.
Mysterious Video Hinting At the Court of Owls As Next Batman Gotham Knights Setting
In the video WB Montreal published on their official Twitter account, you can barely make out some white symbols on the predominant black background. If we stop the video we can see that it is indeed a logo that points out that the Court of Owls will have a fundamental role in Batman Gotham Knights. You can see the tweet below.
But the thing does not stop there. That video is accompanied by two more threads to pull: a morse code and a Twitter account called 'r3dakt3d', a profile that joined Twitter in July 2020 and has posted videos similar to those of WB Montreal. There is also a website where you can get more information by entering the Morse codes of the tweets, but it is still too cryptic to be able to get anything clear-cut from there.
Precisely at the end of 2018, the developers of WB Montreal began to put up photos that pointed to a possible Batman and the Court of Owls game. In these images, they could be seen wearing T-shirts with the logo of said secret society or posing with similar masks to those comic book characters. At that time it already seemed obvious, but with the new information, it is more than confirmed.
