Rockstar Games recently launched a new update for GTA Online. This is the first download you can get to improve the game since the Bottom Dollar Bounties update, although Rockstar did fix some problems with server updates earlier this month.

First noticed by Tez2 on Twitter, this latest update is a small patch aimed at resolving issues across all platforms. We have details on the download sizes for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions, along with the patch notes.

GTA Online Update: Download Sizes

The GTA Online July Update is approximately:

  • 957.1MB on PS4
  • 582.2MB on PS5
  • 2.47GB on Xbox Series X|S
  • 2.47GB on Xbox One

Rockstar Games released a background update for GTA Online today. These changes are server-side, and the complete patch notes were reported by Tez2:

  • Resolved a visual glitch in the "Most Wanted - Thompson" mission cutscene where Thompson appears underground.
  • Fixed overlapping tattoos when switching characters and addresses the unique tattoo bug.

PS5 & Xbox Series X|S Changes

  • Prevented premature access to time-limited clothing and outfits for female characters.
  • Eliminated a glitch that prevents players from falling off bikes.

GTA V has reaffirmed its enduring popularity by becoming the most downloaded PS5 game in Europe, the US, and Canada last month. Additionally, the game secured the second position in overall sales, including both digital and physical formats, across the UK and Europe for the same period. This surge in downloads and purchases is likely attributed to the recent release of the Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC.

The recent GTA Online update, which includes the popular Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC, is already delivering on its promise of new content. The drip-feed of additional features has kicked off in earnest, with two new police vehicles now available for players looking to chase down criminals in style.

Rockstar Games is hinting at exciting new perks for GTA+ subscribers. It appears that members of the subscription service might soon be able to enjoy classic Rockstar titles on their Nintendo Switch consoles. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, this potential addition has generated significant buzz among fans.
