Enchanted Golden Apples are the rarest consumable in Minecraft - they grant the user a wide array of buffs that might help them in the stickiest situation. From PVP to boss fights to falling down into lava - it is truly the ultimate food item. Because of their huge benefits, players might want to try to find more of these enchanted apples.

1. Where do enchanted golden apples spawn?
An enchanted golden apple is often referred to as a "Notch Apple", based on the name of a famous Minecraft developer. Unlike the normal golden apple, it is not craftable - players need to loot chests to find them.
Below is a list of chests to find enchanted golden apple drops:

From the list, the Bastion remnant and the Ancient City stand out. The Bastion remnants have a slightly higher apple drop rate than the usual structure, but only the Treasure chest in its vault can spawn it.
The Ancient City is pretty much the best place to get enchanted golden apples - it has a very high spawn rate of 8.4%, alongside the higher spawn number. It makes sense as players would have to face a much more dangerous enemy in Ancient City - the Warden.
2. Effects of enchanted golden apples
To eat an enchanted golden apple, press and hold use while it is selected in the hotbar. The enchanted golden apple provides:
- 4 points of hunger and 9.6 saturation.
- Absorption IV for 2 minutes providing 8 gold hearts (absorption health, stack on top of normal red hearts)
- Regeneration level II in Java Edition or V in Bedrock Edition for 30 seconds. This equates to 8 hearts in Java and a whopping 50 hearts in Bedrock.
- Fire Resistance I for 5 minutes (Grants immunity to fire, lava, magma blocks, campfires, and blazes' ranged attacks).
- Resistance I (20% reduced damage from all sources except the void) for 5 minutes
3. Best uses for the enchanted golden apples
Healing before or during a hard fight
As the regeneration is over a period of half a minute, using the enchanted golden apple before a fight would be a great safeguard and can keep you from getting killed by powerful attacks. The Resistance and Absorption effect also contributes.
The effect is much more powerful in Bedrock - 50 hearts in 30 seconds is absurd.
Banner Pattern Thing
Players need an enchanted golden apple to create a banner with the former logo of Mojang Studio.
Breed horses
While the enchanted apple can definitely be used to tame, breed and speed up horses' growth, it is best to use other types of golden fruits such as normal golden apples or carrots.
Unlock achievements
On PS4, eating an enchanted golden apple and using it to craft a banner would unlock achievements. It is also needed for Husbandry and A Balanced Diet advancements.
