Just a few days before the official release date of Red Dead Redemption 2, and there is already some image of the game bundle on the Internet. The newest image of PS4 box art and image of the game disc on Twitter have confirmed that the game will come with 2 discs. Which, in fact, makes Red Dead Redemption 2 the first game on PS4 that have 2 discs.
As we can see above, the Japanese box art have a small blue frame, with 2 disc image on the back of the box. This is a notation for a PS4 bundle with 2 Blu-Ray disc inside.
Also, there is a post on Twitter by Kofi, a Canadian Youtuber, revealed the contents inside the box:
There are 2 discs on the box: one "Data Disc", and one "Play Disc".
At the moment, speculations of gamers all around the world are pretty much the same. You will use the Data disc to install the game data inside your PS4. After that, the Play disc will be inserted to the PS4 to play the game.
The fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 comes on 2 discs is easy to understand, since the game is around 100GB in size. So without spliting the games in 2 disc like that, players will have to download a huge amount of data to play the game. The PS4 version of Red Dead Redemption 2 requires 99 GB of space to install all data.
This also mark Red Dead Redemption 2 as the first PS4 full game comes with 2 discs. Of course, we have some 2 discs PS4 game bundle before, but they are collection of 2-3 games in one franchise, not a full feature game like this one.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be release on October 26th, 2018.
