5 - Alderney City
While Alderney is a separate state from Liberty City, it is treated as part of Liberty City's metropolitan area. Alderney City is based on Jersey City, and Alderney is based on New Jersey.
Overall, the city is fairly grim, with the description of "Industrial Wasteland meets suburban hell". It mostly consists of industrial and residential areas and swamps. Alderney is separated from Liberty City by the West River, but does have connections to it via the Booth Tunnel and the Hickey Bridge.
4 - Las Venturas
Las Venturas is based on the real life city of Las Vegas, part of the San Andreas state in GTA:SA. Its absence from GTA V was sorely missed, as the casino paradise of Las Venturas was an exceptional playground for protagonist CJ.
Las Venturas is naturally especially famous because of the large casinos along The Strip. Along these roads are The Four Dragons Casino, The Camel's Toe, The High Roller, Come-A-Lot, The Pink Swan, Royal Casino, Pirates in Men's Pants, Caligula's Palace, The Visage, The Clown's Pocket and the Starfish Casino.
3 - Liberty City
Liberty City is the most visited city in the GTA series. It is based on the real-life city of New York, filled with skyscrapers. It has a high number of buildings that strongly resemble their real counterpart in New York. Examples include the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty (which is parodied as the Statue of Happiness).
It is the birthplace of the Italian mafia and a hub for all criminal activity in the country. Overall, amongst all cities in GTA, Liberty City is the most menacing.

2 - Los Santos
Los Santos is based on the real life city of Los Angeles. It is a city obsessed with celebrity culture and excess, which is the perfect playground for both GTA: San Andreas and GTA V. In terms of size, the city is the largest city in the whole GTA universe. The city is larger than the areas of Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV, GTA San Andreas combined.
Los Santos is an urban wonderland with its Babel towers, labyrinth of side streets and crisscrossing freeways, glamorous neighborhoods and rundown residential districts. It is a place where you can see it all and have it all. Los Santos is amongst the best cities in the GTA Series.
1 - Vice City
Vice City is based on Miami in the 80s. It has two renditions and features in three GTAs; the first GTA (as the third and final city), Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and GTA Vice City Stories. It is generally considered the best city in the GTA Series.
The city of Vice mimics the sunny atmosphere with beaches, palm trees and neon lights. The neon-drenched streets, the colorful characters and memorable locations make this city a visual treat. Fans have been clamoring for its return for over a decade... and their wishes might be granted with GTA VI release date leaks. However, the version we are going to get is the modern one.
