Combat is a very important aspect of Minecraft, whether it's killing creepers for gunpowder, defeating the Ender Dragon, or fighting others in PvP. While some people think the combat in Minecraft is just spamming the attack button, they couldn't be more wrong. In harder difficulties, even the best players could get killed if they are not careful. In this article, we are going to showcase the top 5 tips to get better at Minecraft Combat.

1 - Know your enemy
Currently, there are 25 hostile mobs in Minecraft. While the majority of them are not that hard, you need to remember the most dangerous mobs such as Enderman, Ravager, Evoker, Creeper or Piglin Brutes. Knowing how to defeat them is the key to beat Minecraft, and getting caught by surprise by these guys is not fun at all.
Each of these enemies has its own special ability. For example, the Enderman can't be hit by ranged attacks or Evoker summons Vexes that attack the player. Overall, there is no single way to deal with them all - you need to learn by trial and error.
2 - Take advantage of sprint, jump and strafe
The best way to fight an opponent is to sprint jump toward them and start swinging your sword as soon as you approach. If you are in mid-air when the attack hit, it would become a critical hit, creating a star-like particle effect. Afterward, try to combo your opponent by sprint hit to create knockback hit, alongside using various other movement methods like strafing. Try to chain Knockback so that they can't hit you back.
Put up a shield and do erratic movements like sprint, jump or strafe when going against opponents with ranged attacks.
3 - Use ranged weapons like bow or crossbow
While Minecraft ranged weapons are harder to use and require ammunition, they can let you blaze through levels with minimal risks. The best way to deal with this problem is to enchant the bow with Infinity so that you don't have to get arrows for it. Crossbows compared to bows are nearly the same but more powerful.
The critical weakness of these two weapons is their inability to work underwater or in lava. Bow & Crossbow's range gets reduced to 4 blocks while shooting inside any fluid, making them useless.
4 - Enchantments
Getting enough enchantments for your weapons and armors would help a lot when you are trying to conquer the world of Minecraft. Try to get multiple enchantments for sword and the best enchantments for armor before venturing into hard zones like Nether or End.
5 - TNT or Beds
Players can blow powerful enemies up with TNT, as it deals up to 15 hearts worth of damage to all enemies in range. Using them in combat is pretty straightforward - you can just aggro enemies toward it then try to run outside the blast radius.
Beds or respawn anchors are alternatives to TNTs when fighting in the Nether and End, as all beds explode in these two zones with an even stronger force than TNTs. While you need to stand next to the bed to do this, just place a block between you and the bed to avoid damage.
