So, it’s another Monday, and we at Gurugamer once again have the pleasure of introducing you to 5 of the most notable Android games released in the past week.
For this episode, we have a couple of releases coming from 2 incredibly well-known developers in the gaming industries. Granted, neither of them actually live up to expectation, but they still provide good fun in small bits. Aside from that, there are also a few indie games that are sure to put a smile on your face.
Dr. Mario World
Dr. Mario World still follows the same formula as the original NES game Dr. Mario: You’ll have to get rid of viruses by throwing in pills of different colors. This mobile release has tweaked the controls to make it work better on the touchscreen. There are also multiplayer elements added as well.
The most common complaint from players regarding this game is that there are too many in-app purchases, and the entire experience just feels uninspired.
The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot
The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a mobile adaptation of a PC game of the same name, which was released by Ubisoft back in 2015. This new game has cut down on the castle building mechanics, leaving behind only the hack-and-slash part.
And for the most part, it is quite solid. The game is portrait-oriented, so you can play while holding the phone with only one hand, and the action is smooth and satisfying. PvP, though, is mostly pay-to-win, as you might expect from a free mobile game.
Walk Master
This one came as a pleasant surprise to us. The premise is simple: You control an animal and have to guide it to the end of the level. The problem is, your animal will be walking on two long sticks, and there are tons of obstacles littered on your way. As a result, you must experience with the one-touch controls to find the correct variation that’ll allow you to overcome these challenges. It’s an incredibly fun casual game that you should not miss out on.
Bumpin’ Dungeon
Bumpin’ Dungeon is another casual puzzle game with a pixelated art style in which you need to try to escape from each room in as few moves as possible. It’s surprisingly engaging for a game whose controls rely solely on swipes
ChessFinity
ChessFinity is basically a mix between chess and an endless runner. You control a collection of chess pieces, which move just as they would in a normal chess game. Your task? Trying to overcome obstacles presented by other chess pieces and get as far as you can. There’s also a time limit as well, so your quick thinking skill will be put to the test.
