Kamisato Ayato is a 5 star Hydro Sword character in Genshin Impact. He is one of the more unconventional characters in the game, with all his DPS coming from normal attacks. Ayato can work either as a Main DPS or Burst Support. Due to his Hydro Element, Ayato is a very flexible unit that can fit in various team comps such as Vape, Permafreeze, and Taser.

1. High-End Ayato Team Comps
Overall, Ayato is a pretty easy-to-use character, as you don't have to time his abilities much. His skill changes his normal attacks into powerful AoE Hydro slashes, which can trigger reactions
Ayato's Elemental Burst is consistent Hydro Damage With Huge AoE. It is pretty much Ganyu's burst but Hydro. The long duration is probably the best part of Ayato's Burst - it actually allows him to be played as a Hydro support.
On top of that, characters inside the AoE of the Elemental Burst will have their Normal Attack Damage increased. This means Ayato can also support various normal attack comps.

Yoimiya is the sub DPS that can act as the team's damage dealer while Ayato's ability is on cooldown. She supports Ayato with her burst.
Bennett is here to heal and buff the team's attack. Furthermore, he can also unlock Pyro resonance with Yoimiya for extra damage. His slot can be exchanged for a Geo character such as Albedo or Zhongli for Geo resonance.

This lineup runs Ayato as a sub DPS, supporting Ganyu's elemental burst with his own burst, triggering Freezing. Ayato's continuous Hydro attacks also react with the Cryo element on enemies applied by Ganyu. Furthermore, his Burst can also increase Ganyu's attack speed, which is highly useful.
Venti’s Elemental Burst can group enemies together and apply crowd control. Furthermore, his swirl can spread Hydro attachment from Ayato to enemies nearby. Diona is here to provide shielding and be a battery for team members. She also unlocks cryo resonance.

Ayato is the Main DPS in this team, dealing damage with his continuous Hydro attacks. This reacts with the constant Electro application from Fischl to trigger electro charged.
Fischl is the main sub DPS of the team, who can take over the DPS role if Ayato's abilities are on cooldown. The damage of this lineup can be improved significantly if players have C6 Fischl.
Beidou's Burst can provide Electro damage from backstage, which synergy pretty well with Ayato. She also unlocks Electro resonance with Fischl. Lastly, Bennett is the main support who heals and buffs ATK when needed.

Sucrose increases the team's elemental mastery for higher damage. Furthermore, she also swirls with the Venerer set to reduce enemies' elemental resistance. Bennett is the last member of the team, healing and boosting attack.
