2022 has been a very eventful year for Genshin Impact. The game has kept moving forward, releasing tons of new content of high quality. The characters are probably the best part of this, as they solve a lot of balancing problems that Genshin Impact used to have.
A total of 17 characters were released in 2022, with nine 5 stars and eight 4 stars. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the top 5 best Genshin Impact released in 2022, based on their role in the meta.
Table of Contents
1. Nahida
It is pretty obvious that the archon is going to be the most powerful support of a certain element, and Nahida is not an exception to this rule. According to Genshin Lab, the CN's iOS market data shows that Nahida/Yoimiya dual banners have earned $34,017,290, surpassing Raiden's banner.
The best part of Nahida's kit is her powerful support passives. Her first passive, Compassion Illuminated, boost the Elemental Mastery of the active character by 20% of the EM of the character with the highest EM in the team. While this ability is not as strong as Kazuha's boost, the bonus EM is still pretty substantial.
Her second passive just outright boost her own damage. The higher her EM, the higher her damage and crit rate. During exploration, her third passive allows players to harvest collectible items from a distance, which saves a lot of time.
2. Yelan
We all know Xingqiu is a busted character, whose presence supports pretty much all kinds of Hydro-based teams. Yelan is pretty much a 5 star version of Xingqiu. While she does not have Xingqiu's high range of support (from hydro application to healing and damage reduction), her passive provides the most important buff of all - DAMAGE.
Her "Adapt With Ease" passive boosts the damage of the character on the field when her Elemental Buff is active, increasing Yelan's support potential. For every second her Burst is active, the buff increases, with the maximum being 50% extra damage. If timed well with powerful bursts, players can deal devastating damage to enemies.
With Yelan's whole skill set scaling off HP, players can finally give her all the artifacts with HP% that they dropped while farming for the perfect rolls. She also has Crit Rate as Ascension stat, allowing players to focus more on Crit DMG and HP.
3. Wanderer
Wanderer a.k.a Scaramouche is one of the most hyped characters released in Genshin, as he played a big role in the story. His playstyle is also one of the most unique - Wanderer has the ability to fly around while attacking from afar, which no character in Genshin Impact has.
Additionally, Wanderer's Burst has some of the highest multipliers in the game to date. At level 10, it deals 5 instances of 264.96%, which is 1325% in total.
Other characters with powerful Burst like Mona, Raiden or Zhongli are only 800%, 700% and 900% respectively. While his Burst ends his flying mode, due to the low cooldown, players can just reuse the skill to fly again right away.
4. Faruzan
Before the 3.3 update, there are eight Anemo characters in Genshin Impact, and most of them are support/utilities.
Existing Anemo supporters, such as Kazuha, Sucrose, Sayu, and Venti have been very popular in elemental teams because of their excellent RES shred effects. On the other hand, Anemo DPS like Xiao or Heizou is not nearly as popular. The main reason for this is that there is no dedicated Anemo DPS support, which means these characters have no way to directly boost their damage without reactions.
Faruzan completely changed this. Her kit brings a lot of needed utility such as Anemo DMG boost and Anemo RES shred. Her C6, which players can eventually get, massively boosts CRIT DMG, which makes Anemo DPS deadlier than ever.
5. Yae Miko
Yae is probably the best sub-DPS for Electro released so far. And with Aggravate teams getting popular after Dendro, she is definitely the character to pull when her rerun eventually hit.
Her kit deals incredible off-field damage. Her skill also summons a lightning rod called "Sesshou Sakura" that periodically strikes opponents nearby with Electro damage. When there are other Sesshou Sakura nearby, their level will increase, thus boosting the DMG dealt by said attacks. A maximum of 3 Sesshou Sakura can exist simultaneously. The initial highest level each sakura can reach is 3.
For example, at Talent level 10, each Sesshou Sakura level 3 can deal 170% damage for each strike, a 60% increase compared to the first level. And you can have three of them on the field, which triples the damage potential.
Her boost also deals decent damage as well. Upon cast, Yae Miko strikes with 442% damage (level 9) and summons up to 3x thunderbolt, which deals 567.49% damage each.
