GTA 5 Slasher Locations, How To Trigger & Other Halloween Updates 2021

Rockstar has finally unleashed the updates for the GTA Halloween 2021 with many new fresh events, game modes, the return of old modes. We still don't know what are all the UFOs in GTA 5 for yet, but it might be revealed in the next week.

The 2 highlights of the GTA 5 Halloween Update 2021 are the Phantom Car event, which was inspired by the 1983 horror movie Christine, and the Slashers event, which features 4 famous killers from famous horror movies. In this article, we will show you how to join the Slasher event (with all GTA 5 Slasher locations) and the Phantom Car event.

1. GTA 5 Slashers event

This Halloween, Rockstar introduces players to a brand new Slasher event. During the night, there will be 4 Slashers roaming around the city, hunting for people. These NPCs are really tough to take down and they will use melee weapons.

The Slashers event ends when either the NPC or the players is killed. You will get a rare Twilight Knife T-shirt within 72 hours if you defeat these guys.

GTA 5 Slasher locations

There are a total of 4 Slashers, who are inspired by classic horror movies such as Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, It, and Dancing Clown. Each of these NPCs will appear in different areas in the city. Here are all the Slasher locations in GTA 5:

The Clown

It will appear on the bottom half of the city, marked by the red circle on the map. When it appears, you will hear an evil laugh and clown horn when it appears. It uses a knife as the weapon and stabs really fast so it's best to not get close to it. The Clown runs at a low speed though.

The Psycho

This character appears in the middle areas of the mark marked by 4 red circles. You can hear its evil laugh when it appears. The Psycho uses a baseball as a weapon. If you stay in the car, it will open the door and drag you out. It attacks quite slowly, so it is quite easy to deal with.

The Driver

The Driver appears in 2 small areas far away from each other on the map marked by 2 red circles. It is always on fire and uses a crowbar as a weapon. If you melee fight it, you will also catch fire.

The Slasher

The final Slasher appears on the top part of the map, marked by a big red circle. When it appears, you will hear a big slashing sound effect. It walks slowly and you can run it over with your car.

Trigger conditions

In order for these NPCs to appear, players need to meet these requirements:

Players must be in free roam, not inside a building.
The appearance time is between 9 PM and 5 AM.
Players must not use helicopters, planes, boats, weaponized vehicles, or special vehicles such as the Deluxo, Oppressor, Oppressor MK2. They are on foot or in a vehicle.
Players must join the session for at least 16 minutes.
The NPCs will only appear when players stay inside the GTA 5 Slasher locations above.

If all the requirements are met, there is a chance that one of these NPCs will appear and chase one of the players. Players can join this event in all kinds of lobbies, including Public, Solo, Invite Only,... If players get out of the GTA 5 Slasher locations, the killer will disappear.

2. GTA 5 Phantom Car event

The GTA 5 Phantom Car event is inspired by the 1983 horror movie Christine. In the game, there is a chance that a Declasse Tornado will appear and stalk a player. If you re inside a car, it will follow you. If you are on foot or get out of your car, the car will be set on fire and start chasing you, just like in the movie.

In order for this GTA 5 ghost car to appear, players need to meet these requirements:

Players must stay outdoor in free roam instead of inside a building.
The appearance time of the ghost car is between 9 PM and 5 AM.
Players must not use any special vehicles (the Deluxo, Oppressor, or Oppressor MK2), helicopters, planes, boats, and weaponized vehicles. They could be on foot or in a vehicle.
Players have been in the session for at least 16 minutes.
There must be at least 2 players in the session and the car will randomly stalk 1 of the 2 players.

The car is nearly indestructible but you can destroy it easily by using the Orbital Cannon. Otherwise, you are going to need to use a lot of firepower in order to destroy this car.
