Bandai Namco has held an on-stage event back in 15th September for their upcoming title - Tales of Arise. This awesome event featured Yusuke Tomizama - the title's producer, and the 2 protagonists: Alphen voiced by Takuya Sato, and Shionne voiced by Shino Shimoji.

In this title, all living beings and things have energy named Astral Energy. It is the planets' spiritual energy in Japanese. It linked the planets of Rena and Dahna where this title set in. Rena inhabitants like Shionne could use "Astral Artes" that use the spiritual energy. It is magic. Moreover, Shionne can also use healing magic, one more thing to notice is when Rena's people use magic, their eyes will turn into blue.

Alphen could not feel pain at all.

Aside from a memory loss, Alphen could not feel pain at all. However, he is not also immortal. Only Alphen could wield the flame sword, but that flame is also the magic which Shionne uses.

Takuya Sato has joked that Alphen burns himself up, but since he keeps on wielding the very nice dangerous sword - he couldn't feel the pain. But from the trailer, we know that he does get burned. Thus Shinonne heals him.

Then they showed the official cosplayers of the title, with Tatsuya Ida did Alphen, and Nagisa Tsubaki did Shionne. Primarily, we also get to listen to some live voice lines from  Shino Shimoji and Takuya Sato.

It is true that Alphen doesn't have memory and cannot feel pain. However, he is not emotionless. He is missing all those things makes him an emotional man, like one who'd get better sense compensate for the one they don't have.

On the other hand, Shionne brings in herself the “Rose’s Curse.” She will bring pain to anyone she touches. That why she tries to act arrogant so that people won't touch her. But inside, she feels very lonely.

The game will hit the market next year on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
