Minecraft is a vast open-world game filled with all kinds of different mobs. Out of the 70 different mobs in the game, some are biome-specific, chunk-specific, or even spawn within specific events or generated structures.

In this article, we are going to list out the rarest mobs in Minecraft. Jockey mobs won't be counted here as they are the hybrid of 2 existing mobs.

1 - Charged Creeper

The Charged Creeper is an elusive mob that needs to be interacted with in a particular way to spawn. In short, it is a suicide bomber "creeper" that was struck by lighting. This rarely ever happens without the aid of the player.

To create a Charged Creeper in Minecraft, you need to hit the creeper with a trident enchanted with channeling while it is thundering. This way, a lightning bolt will strike the creeper and spawn the Charged version. An explosion caused by a charged creeper is twice as powerful as the explosion caused by a creeper. This is why it is amongst the most dangerous enemies in the game.

2 - Brown pandas

Panda in Minecraft has two "genes" that determine their appearance and behavior upon spawning. Each grouping would create a different panda... and with the brown gene being the weakest, the chance for a brown panda to spawn is only 1/64.

The reason for this rarity is that both genes must be brown - any other combination would cause the other gene to spawn instead.

3 - The Killer Bunny

The killer bunny (previously known as The killer rabbit of Caerbannog, a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail) is a rare mob that was added into the game as part of the 1.8 updates. The Killer Rabbit is hostile toward players, foxes, and wolves. The killer rabbit has white fur and red horizontal eyes, which is very different from the usual vertical eyes of normal rabbits.

You can only spawn the killer bunny with the command "/summon rabbit ~ ~ ~ {RabbitType:99}" as it was already removed from the game's spawn list.

4 - Brown Mooshroom Cow

Mooshrooms are mushroom-covered variants of cows exclusive to the rare mushroom fields biome. There are two variants of the Mooshrooms, red and brown, with the latter never spawns naturally.

You need to use a trident enchanted with channeling while it is thundering in order to get lightning to strike the cow. The red version would turn brown and vice versa. You can get more of the brown version by breeding a red and a brown together.

The suspicious stew's effect would be based on the flower you fed the cow.

To get the suspicious stew from the Mooshroom cow, the player needs to feed it the flower of their choice. It then produces a suspicious stew related to that small flower the next time it is milked with a bowl.

5 - Pink Sheep

Four out of five sheep are white, with an 81.836% chance of spawning. The black, grey and light grey variants each have a 5% chance of spawning or a 15% chance collectively. Brown sheep are fairly rare, with only a 3% chance to spawn. However, pink sheep is the rarest - they have only a 0.164% chance of spawning naturally.

Five percent of all sheep spawn as babies. This means a baby pink sheep is even rarer, with only 0.0082% of spawning. If you get one of these rarest mobs in Minecraft, might as well go buy a lottery ticket.
