Garena has finally revealed the date, schedule and location of the Free Fire World Series (FFWS), the biggest Free Fire tournament in 2022. In this article, Gurugamer.com is going to showcase everything you need to know about the Free Fire World Series 2022.
1. Where will Free Fire World Series 2022 be held?
This Global event will take place from May 14 to May 21 in Sentosa, Singapore. Singapore is Garena's home turf and they should be able to handle most situations that might arise.
This is probably a countermeasure to the global pandemic situation, as the recent second World Series in 2021 was canceled. In the first FFWS, South Asian teams were barred from entering Singapore and competing at the first FFWS 2021 due to Covid-19's second wave in the country.
2. Format and teams
22 teams from 13 regions around the world will compete in this tournament to find out which is the world's champion. Similar to the previous year's format, the tournament will be divided into 2 stages: play-ins and finals.
FFWS Play-ins
12 teams from 12 different regions will compete in six rounds of play-ins on May 14 to get the two slots to the finals. The other 10 squads will be eliminated from the tournament. Below is the play-ins seeding:
