Because of the COVID-19, the big esports plan of Free Fire had to be canceled, which is super unfortunate. Still, Free Fire got a successful year with the Free Fire India Championship, the Free Fire Continental Series, and multiple other online tournaments.
In 2021, Garena has prepared everything for the Indian esports scene this year with 4 huge tournaments in India with a total prize pool of more than Rs 2 crore. These tournaments are open for all teams to participate and compete at the national level. There will be also many local Free Fire tournaments throughout the year that will be revealed later.
Free Fire India Pro Esports Circuit
The esports scene of 2021 will have 2 seasons Spring season and Fall season. Each season will have 2 major tournaments, a Free Fire Pro League Indian tournament and a Free Fire India Championship tournament. Each of these seasons will have a total prize pool of more than Rs 1 crore. The Free Fire India Pro Esports Circuit 2021 will start AFTER the Free Fire India Championship 2021 Spring because there was not a preceding Pro League.

Free Fire Pro League
The Free Fire Pro League is the start of a competitive season of Free Fire. A Pro League tournament will have 18 teams with the 12 finalists from the last Free Fire India Championship and the top 6 teams from the open qualifiers.
The total prize pool of a Pro League tournament is Rs 35 Lakh. The top 6 teams from a Pro League will be directly qualified for the next Free Fire India Championship. Teams from 7th place to 12th place will be able to skip the open qualifiers for the next Free Fire India Championship.
Free Fire India Championship
The Free Fire India Championship is where the best Free Fire teams in India compete for a Rs 75 Lakh prize pool. The winner will hold the title "the best IndianFree Fire team" and represent India in the international stages.
There are 2 ways to be qualified for the Free Fire India Championship:
- Make it to the top 6 of the Free Fire Pro League.
- Make it to the top 12 in the closed qualifiers of the Free Fire India Championship.
The Free Fire India Championship open qualifiers are available for all teams in India to join through the Free Fire Cup mode in the game. The top 12 teams from the Free Fire Cup will compete with teams from 7th place to 12th place from the Free Fire Pro League.
The Free Fire India Championship main event will have 3 stages:
- League: 18 teams will compete with each other in a series of matches. The top 6 teams will directly go to the Grand Finals. The 12 other teams will go to the Play-ins.
- Play-ins: The top 6 teams from the Play-ins will go to the Grand Finals.
- Grand Finals: 12 teams compete with each other for the biggest title and the chance to represent the country on the international stages.
Free Fire India Championship Spring
Since there was no Free Fire Pro League before the Free Fire India Championship Spring, the top 6 teams from the Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) Fall 2020. The other 6 finalists of the FFIC Fall 2020 will be qualified for the closed qualifiers to get the last 12 slots in the Free Fire India Championship Spring.
