Pakistan and India are gearing up for a big showdown at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025. It’s their first official tournament face-off in almost six years, bringing back one of the most intense rivalries in the region.
This epic match is happening later this month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the Esports World Cup. Both countries earned their spots by battling through tough qualifiers.
Pakistan locked in their place at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 by grabbing third place at the PMSL Central and South Asia Spring 2025 in Almaty, beating out some of the best teams in the region. That performance secured one of the three spots for Central and South Asia. 4Thrives Esports will carry Pakistan’s flag in the tournament.
India’s sending Aryan x TMG Gaming, who dominated the Battlegrounds Mobile India Pro Series 2025 Grand Finals in New Delhi from July 4 to 6. Winning the BMPS title got them a straight ticket to the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025, where they’ll take on the world’s top teams.
Pakistan and India Set to Reunite in PUBG Tournaments After 5-Year Break
The last time Pakistani and Indian PUBG Mobile teams went head-to-head was in 2020 at the PUBG Mobile World League, with Team Free Style repping Pakistan. A lot’s changed since then. India banned the original PUBG Mobile and rolled out BGMI, which created a separate competitive scene. Meanwhile, Pakistan fought through regional qualifiers without a clear shot at facing Indian teams, so high-stakes matches between the two were rare.
Back in 2020, Pakistani fans watched mostly to see local players take on India’s big-name streamers and pros. Now, things are different. Both teams earned their spots through official leagues with strict global rules and are ready to compete on one of esports’ biggest stages. They’re fighting not just for bragging rights but also for a piece of the massive $3 million prize pool.
Organizers are expecting a ton of people to watch. Tens of thousands of Pakistani fans will likely tune in live, while India’s huge PUBG Mobile fanbase is expected to bring in hundreds of thousands of viewers.
The PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 runs from July 25 to August 3 in Riyadh, with 24 of the world’s best teams. The Group Stage, from July 25 to 27, splits teams into three groups. The top eight move straight to the Grand Finals, while the bottom 16 fight for another shot in the Survival Stage on July 29 and 30. The top 16 then battle it out in the Grand Finals from August 1 to 3.
Fans in Pakistan and India are pumped to see their favorite players take this legendary rivalry from cricket to the global esports stage at the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025.
