1 - Genshin Impact Aloy Profile

Aloy Backstory

Based on Aloy's description on Genshin Impact's website, this 5-star character is the same person who fought against the machines in Horizon Zero Dawn.

Apparently, Aloy has somehow come to Teyvat in search of new challenges. She couldn't have arrived at a better time, as Inazuma is being taken over by the Raiden Shogun. It is unlikely that a crossover character like her would be included in any story content, however.

Aloy Appearance

In Genshin Impact, Aloy is a tall woman with fair skin and braided red hair. She wears a tribal warrior outfit, the symbol of her role as the Nora Brave, the warrior of the tribe. Her main weapon in Horizon Zero Dawn is a compound bow.

2 - Aloy Genshin Impact Abilities

In general, Aloy is a fairly straightforward character with the ability to deal Cryo Damage via Elemental Skill and Burst. Furthermore, she can also imbue all her normal attacks with Cryo damage.

Normal Attack: Rapid Fire

  • Normal Attack: Perform up to 4 consecutive shots with her bow.
  • Charged Attack: Charge a shot to deal extra damage. Deals Cryo damage once fully charged.
  • Plunging Attack: Fires off several arrows in mid-air before striking the ground with an area of effect attack upon impact

Elemental Skill: Frozen Wilds

Aloy throws a freeze cluster bomb that explodes and deals Cryo damage on impact. Upon explosion, it splits into smaller Cryo bombs that explode after a short delay or upon contact with opponents, dealing further damage.

Enemies hit by the bombs will have their attack damage reduced, and whenever a bomb hits an opponent, Aloy gains one "coil stack". She gains the Rushing Ice buff after 4 stacks, which converts her normal attacks into Cryo damage. While this buff is active, Aloy can't gain more stacks.

Elemental Burst: Prophecies of Dawn

Aloy throws a Cryo-filled power cell which can only be detonated using an arrow. Upon detonation, the power cell deals area of effect Cryo damage. Overall, this is just a bigger version of her Elemental Skill.

3 - Aloy Genshin Impact Passives

1st Ascension Passive: Combat Override

  • Aloy's Attack is increased by 16% when she receives the Coil effect from Frozen Wilds. Nearby party members get half the bonus. This effect lasts 10 seconds.

4th Ascension Passive: Strong Strike

  • Aloy gains 3.5% Cryo damage every second she's in the Rushing Ice state. The bonus maxes out at 10 seconds, which translates to 35% bonus damage.

Utility Passive: Easy Does It

  • When Aloy is part of the party, team members won't startle small animals as easily. This allows players to kill Timmy's birds much easier.

Constellations

Aloy is the only character in Genshin Impact who does not have any Constellations yet. All 6 levels shes the same name "Star of Another World" and has a description of "The time has not yet come for this person's corner of the night sky to light up". Overall, this is likely to be a hint for future updates to her Constellations.

How to get Aloy in Genshin Impact? Well, you can't pull for her - you need to log into the PS version using your account to receive the character for free.

4 - Aloy Genshin Impact Best Build

Aloy is a pure Cryo character, with all her skills deal Cryo damage. This means she works well in combo with Pyro or Hydro supports who can control enemies or debuff them for even more damage in Elemental Reaction tier list.

Below is the best Aloy Genshin Impact gameplay with specific guidelines on her weapons, artifacts and team.

Aloy weapon Thundering Pulse

Aloy Best Weapons

Overall, it is possible to have Aloy as your main DPS, as her Cryo boost is massive. The Thundering Pulse is the top choice with its 20% Attack Damage boost and Thunder Emblem, which further boost Damage by 12-40%.

You can replace it with Aloy's 4-star Predator bow. The weapon has weaker damage potential but you can get it for free.

Aloy Best Artifacts

Due to Aloy's multiple Cryo boost talents, the Blizzard Strayer set is the best choice. With 2 pieces equipped, Aloy gains 15% Cryo damage. With 4 pieces, her Crit rate with Cryo goes up by 20%, and if the enemy is Frozen the bonus doubles.

If you don't have all 4 pieces of this set yet, it might be a good idea to replace 2 of them with the Gladiator's Finale.

Aloy Best Team

Aloy has powerful Cryo shots and an AOE Skill and Burst which makes her a great character for Melt and Freeze comps. There are 2 versions for Premium and F2P players.

Premium Team: Aloy + Xiangling + Venti + Bennett

  • Aloy will be the main DPS dealing powerful cryo damage to enemies.
  • Xiangling will be the side DPS who spread Pyro for Melt reactions.
  • Venti can do crowd control with his burst.
  • Bennett boosts Aloy's overall damage potential.

F2P Team: Aloy + Xiangling + Anemo Traveler + Barbara

  • Aloy will be the main DPS, dealing Cryo damage.
  • Xiangling will be the side DPS who spread Pyro for Melt reactions.
  • Anemo Traveler can deal with crowd control and elemental debuff.
  • Barbara will be the healer of the team, who also enables Freezing which synergizes with the Blizzard Strayer.

Xingqiu, Sucrose and Diona can be good replacements for some of the members of these two comps.
