Windtrace is back in Genshin Impact 4.6. The Hide and Seek event is where players can play the role of either Rebels or Hunter. While the Hunters' job is to search for the Rebels in hiding, the Rebels must hide and avoid getting caught.
Unlike previous runs, Windtrace Genshin Impact 2024 has several updates. Some are praising the developers for their creativity, while others may claim that "Windtrace sucks!". But if you know how to play the game, you can win Windtrace 4.6 seamlessly!
Changes in Windtrace 4.6
In Version 4.6 of Windtrace, there are four Contested Zones, with one randomly chosen for each game.
Each round includes six Signaling Devices. So instead of only hiding and waiting until the round ends, Rebels must repair four devices to win, while Hunters must stop them or catch all Rebels before time runs out.
If a Rebel is caught for the first time, they are Exiled temporarily and then Freed. Fellow Rebels can also free them earlier. If caught a second time, they are permanently out of the round.
Moreover, the daily coin limit for Windtrace increases until it reaches 6000 Coins. After reaching this limit, you can still play but won't earn more Windtrace Coins.
Windtrace Coins can be exchanged for Primogems, Talent Ascension Materials, Character EXP Materials, and Mora.

Windtrace Genshin Impact 2024 best tactics
1. For rebels
- Each rebel has two lives. If hunters catch all three rebels, they win early.
- Always try to rescue fellow players if they get caught to boost your chances of winning the Windtrace: Seekers and Strategy event.
- Watch the hunter's location and choose the farthest signaling devices from them to fix.
- Rebels can't maintain disguises near these devices or while repairing them. The devices emit light, alerting hunters to repairs. Continue where you left off and focus on repairing multiple devices at once to confuse hunters.
- Pair up with other rebels to reduce repair time on signaling devices.
- The best characters for Windtrace:
2. For hunters
You can use up to 3 skills while chasing Rebels, so choose wisely. For example, Mysterious Hunch (NA) can be your first skill, briefly showing the directions of all Rebels.
Then, select Insight (Q) as your next skill. This ability randomly dispels a Rebel's disguise and marks their locations in the mini-map for 20s. Rebels cannot hide themselves during this.
Therefore, it pairs well with Mysterious Hunch to locate and catch the restrained Rebel.
How to play Windtrace with friends
Players can either have custom matches with their friends in Co-Op or play with random people. You can have up to 2 friends and 1 random match in a game and still collect coins! If everyone in the round is four friends with no random match, you do not get coins.
