Minecraft: Education Edition is an educational version of Minecraft specifically designed for classroom use. While being mostly the same, Education Edition actually has a few features that normal versions (Java, Bedrock) of the game do not have. In this article, we are going to showcase the top 5 exclusive features in Minecraft Education that Mojang should add to the normal version.

1. Chemistry

This feature allows the player to create elements based on their atomic structure with sliders to choose the number of protons, neutrons and electrons. All 118 elements from the Periodic Table are available, as well as over 400 stable isotopes.

These elements can be put into Compound Creator, Lab Table and Material Reducer to create even more items. The elements can be used to change the color of torches, glass, sparklers and glow sticks (the latter two are exclusive items in Education Edition).

2. Agent

The agent is a codable mod that players can program to do various tasks like planting and harvesting, mining, chopping trees, and building. It is a mechanic that allows players to learn to code in Education Edition. It is the only mob exclusive to Education Edition.

The addition of Agents would open up limitless potentials in Minecraft, as you can create your own customized army that way. It is rather similar to the Copper Golem recently revealed in Minecraft Vote.

3. Balloons

Balloons in Minecraft are entities that float upward when placed. It is an easy way to get items to float in Minecraft Education Edition. Players can attach balloons to a mob or a fence, similar to a lead. They float into the air faster than the speed the player flies up but remain grounded if tied to a fence.

If tied to a mob, the balloon will carry it away high into the air. Unless stopped by a structure, both of them will eventually despawn or disappear.

4. Allow, deny and border blocks

These are unique blocks in Minecraft Education Edition that prevent other players from breaking and or even placing blocks in their areas. As of version 1.17, neither Java nor Bedrock has this feature to prevent other players from messing up their worlds.

Currently, servers have to use plugins and mods to prevent online users from griefing. The addition of the allow and deny blocks would definitely remove the need for this.

5. Super Fertilizer

Super fertilizer is an upgraded form of bone meal that is created using ammonia and phosphorus. It can be used in the same way as normal bone meal. Compared to bone meal, Super Fertilizer produces more flowers in a larger area when used on grass.

Super fertilizer matures crops with one use. When the player uses it on a sapling, a tree is instantly grown after one use, instead of multiple uses as with bone meal.
