Each of these items naturally comes with diverse uses as well as crafting recipes to create even more things. Therefore, there’s a lot for you to explore.

Post mining the Amethyst Clusters, you may use Amethyst Shards in some new crafting recipes.

How to find Amethyst Shards in Minecraft

Those who wonder how to find Amethyst Shards in Minecraft need to search for Amethyst Geode. They are compact rooms which have walls made from Budding Amethysts.

Only mine with Pickaxe to avoid losing half the yield.

As time passes by, the Budding Amethyst blocks would develop into Amethyst Buds. You need to wait till these Buds have grown fully into an Amethyst Cluster, then mine it with any type of Pickaxe.

Remember that other tools will lead to the dropping of only two Amethyst Shards instead of four.

Amethyst recipes in Minecraft

As mentioned before, there are many new recipes one can make with Amethyst. Here are some of them:

1. Amethyst Block

You can combine 4 Amethyst Shards together to make this block. It is useful for those who want to flex when building structures.

Block of Amethyst

2. Spyglass

Now with an Amethyst Block, you only need to stack an Amethyst and two Copper Ingots on top to make a Spyglass. It lets users zoom in and can see stuff from a distance.

You can make Spyglass and Tinted Glass with Amethysts.

3. Tinted Glass

Finally, you can surround a Glass Block with 4 Amethyst Shards to make Tinted Glass. This item will block all light while is still clear enough for players to look through it.

Unluckily, we cannot really make an Amethyst farm. This is because the Budding Amethyst blocks can break even when you use a Silk Tough pickaxe for the mining.

Therefore, once you find an area of Amethyst Geode underground, you need to remember its location so that you can return and collect more Amethyst Shards.
