GTA 5 is something people have been playing for almost 10 years now, with versions on all three generations of consoles. Usually, it takes about 5 - 6 years for a new GTA game to be made. Because of that, discussions about GTA 6 have been on the rise... especially after the development of Red Dead Redemption 2 is completed.
There have been a lot of speculations about the open-world map of GTA 6, with sequels having a bigger and better map. In this article, we are going to list out the three most exciting (and believable) rumors about GTA 6's open-world map.
GTA 6 Map Rumors
1 - Project AMERICAS
The details about Project AMERICAS are leaked by a user named JackOLantern1982 on Reddit and seem to be accepted by a portion of the fanbase. Based on the leaks, the next GTA game might not even be in the USA anymore... with the main map relocates to the South American cities. There would be multiple open-world hubs.
While this might sound okay on paper, moving out of the US is not really a good idea, as no other countries in the continent are as exciting as the US. The settings in the past would lower the tech level - you won't be seeing those laser guns and flying cars anytime soon.
With the settings being the 70s - 80s and RDR-style of chapter-based storytelling, project Americas (if it is a thing) should be much focused on storytelling than GTA 5.

2 - Back to Vice City
Vice City is one of the most iconic locations in the world of GTA. With GTA 3 and 4 being Liberty City (New York) and GTA San Andreas and 5 being Los Santos (Los Angeles), GTA 6 might be Vice City's (Miami) turn once again. They haven't featured the city in a mainline GTA game since 2002 after all.
And it wouldn't be the same at all if we get back. Vice City's previous appearance was in the 80s, with all the neons and architecture... the modern Vice City should look much different.
3 - Multiple hubs of America's Major Cities
Based on the older interviews and comments from Rockstar games, it is their aspiration to craft a gigantic map that combines all their best maps into one. However, this is inherently not feasible, as all the locations of the cities are far apart from each other. Liberty City is on the East Coast, while Los Santos is on the West. Miami is much further in the South.
However, they can do the "hub" style, with players using planes to travel between cities. This would still be an incredibly big challenge, of course, as the map must be way bigger than GTA 5 ever was.
