Genshin Impact Philanemo Mushroom is not a type of material for food recipes. Instead, it is used as the ascension materials for in-game characters and you are going to need a lot of them along the way.
You cannot get some Genshin Impact characters to the next tier without the presence of this specialty. With the fact that they do not really spawn in the wild, you will need to know about Philanemo Mushroom locations, farming route, and respawn time for the ultimate efficiency.

What is Genshin Impact Philanemo Mushroom?
According to the in-game description, Philanemo Mushroom is “a fungus that grows in the warm caress of the wind, it is as everlasting as the wind, nourishing life.”
Although it cannot be used in any Genshin Impact food recipe, Philanemo Mushroom is used in the ascension for these characters:
- Klee
- Barbara
- Mona
As Barbara is a free character and one of the few dedicated Genshin Impact healers, the mushroom is especially important in ascending this Hydro girl. Fan-favorite Mona and Klee also need this item to ascend to higher levels.
All of these characters will need 168 Philanemo Mushrooms for the max level of ascension which is level 90. If your team party has more than two of the above characters, it is ideal for you to often stack up the Philanemo Mushrooms.
While none of the now-available weapons use this Mushroom for their upgrade, it is essential to craft the Anemo Treasure Compass.
Genshin Impact Philanemo Mushroom locations
How to farm Philanemo Mushroom will be in vain if players do not know where they grow. What to remember is that they are not usually found in the wild. Below are the spots you should acknowledge.
1. Under the eaves of houses and buildings
The Philanemo Mushrooms only grow in the residential area of Mondstadt. You can find them under the house’s eaves, as what the in-game description says.
Moreover, those who have had Klee in their team can locate the mushrooms in town using her passive skill. This comes in special handy as most other specialties in Mondstadt spawn in the wild, which means they will not show up when you are in the city.
2. On walls
Players can also find Philanemo Mushrooms growing on the walls of houses in Springvale, Dawn Winery, and Mondstadt City.
3. Purchased from NPC
If players prefer to not wander around and climb walls, they can check where to buy Philanemo Mushroom and how much it costs for purchase.
Genshin Impact Philanemo Mushroom is not sold at a regular shop. You will have to find Chloris instead. The young girl who is around the same age as Flora often walks around Windrise. Make sure to follow the way from Mondstadt’s gate until you come across her near the road.
Chloris sells 5 different flowers: Snapdragon, Wolfhook, Mint, Valberry, Philanemo Mushroom. Each Philanemo Mushroom costs 1000 Mora. You can also buy the shop out for 5000 Mora if you please.
As Chloris restocks her shop every 3 days, make sure to regularly visit her and buy all the ascension goodies. Moreover, Chloris is only available during daytime and cannot be seen after 19:00. If it is night, just use the Genshin Impact clock to wait till the following morning.
Although these mushrooms are pretty easy to discover, figuring how to farm them and saving time can be quite tricky. Next up is the Philanemo Mushroom route so you can farm it effectively.
Best Philanemo Mushroom route
1. Farming route for Philanemo Mushrooms
The best way for players to farm Philanemo Mushroom is to teleport to the top of Mondstadt’s Knights of Favonius Headquarters, then follow the way across the roofs. Make sure not to fall when you gather the mushrooms.
There are some smaller paths players can follow to get more mushrooms, but the majority is in the first route. After gathering mushrooms from Mondtstadt, teleport to Springvale. Similar to the ones in Mondstadt City, the houses in Springvale are also covered in Philanemo Mushrooms.
Dawn Winery houses will also have mushrooms growing on them, but they are only worth collecting if players are already on the way to the area or near ascension.
2. Genshin Impact Philanemo Mushroom respawn time
Generally, Philanemo Mushrooms spend a couple of days respawning. Like most other local specialties in the game, this farmable Philanemo Mushroom has a respawn time of 2 days.
So, go on and fetch them several times a week in order to maximize your efficiency.
Philanemo Mushroom real life
The Genshin Impact item looks exactly like its real-life version. Its head is adorned by a kind of flower-like extension that resembles closely a glowing lily. Therefore, you will want to keep an eye out for this detail when foraging.
The in-game designs show how the developers pay attention to the smallest detail and how they want to bring a vivid visual to players’ experience. Meanwhile, you might also be surprised to see how Genshin Impact characters look in real life.
