Gorou is a 4-star Geo Bow character in Genshin Impact. Goro Genshin Impact release date is December 14 - he is currently available as part of Itto's banner, Oni's Royale. In this article, we are going to showcase a complete guide for Gorou Genshin Impact, including character profile, gameplay and best builds.
1. Gorou Genshin Impact Profile
Gorou is a member of the resistance movement that opposes the vision hunt and has an easy-going personality. He is a straightforward person who is not afraid to draw his sword for the sake of his friends and subordinate.
Appearance wise, Gorou is a young man with fair skin from a race of humans with physical animal traits, similar to Diona. He has erect pointy ears and a bushy tail of the same color. He wears light armor that exposes his torso, which definitely favors maneuverability.
Currently, Gorou age hasn't been revealed, yet it's confirmed that this young man was born on May 18th. Taurus is Gorou's zodiac sign.
2. Gorou Genshin Impact Abilities
Gorou is the first Geo bow user in Genshin Impact. Overall, he is a good Geo support that boosts other Geo characters in the team. He can also deal damage that scales on his Defense through his Elemental Burst, however, it has a high energy cost. Exploration-wise, Gorou is one of the best, as his skill displays Inazuma specialties on the minimap.
Normal attack: Ripping Fang Fletching
- Normal Attack: Performs up to 4 attacks with a bow, dealing physical damage.
- Charged Attack: Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. A fully charged crystalline arrow will deal Geo DMG.
- Plunging Attack: Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Elemental Skill: Inuzaka All-Round Defense
Gorou's skill deals AoE Geo DMG and sets up a General's War Banner. The banner will provide up to 3 buffs to active characters, based on the number of Geo users in the party.
- 1 Geo character: DEF Bonus.
- 2 Geo characters: Increased resistance to interruption.
- 3 Geo characters: Geo DMG Bonus.
There can only be one banner on the field at any one time. Multiple banners do not stack. Players can hold the button to adjust the skill's location.
Elemental Burst: Juuga: Forward Unto Victory
Gorous's burst deals Aoe Geo DMG and creates a field known as General's Glory that buffs characters inside it. The buffs are also based on the number of Geo characters in the party, however, the field moves together with your active character.
Every 1.5s, Generates 1 Crystal Collapse that deals AoE Geo DMG and pulls 1 elemental shard to your active character's position. This burst destroys all War banners upon cast, and Gorou cannot create new War Banners while it is active.
With these abilities, Gorou can form a powerful Geo team with Itto, who arrived in the same banner with him on December 14.
3. Gorou Genshin Impact Materials
Below are materials to ascend Gorou and maximize his abilities.
- 1st Ascension Passive: Heedless of the Wind and Weather
After using Juuga: Forward Unto Victory, all nearby party members' DEF is increased by 25% for 12s.
- 4th Ascension Passive: A Favor Repaid
Gorou's abilities are boosted based on his DEF. Burst damage increases by 15.6% while skill DMG increases by 156%.
- Utility Passive: Seeker of Shinies
Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Inazuma on the mini-map.
4. Gorou Genshin Impact Constellation
Gorou's all constellation revolves around boosting the damage of Geo teams.
- Rushing Hound: Swift as the Wind
When other characters under the boost of War Banner or General's Glory deal Geo DMG to opponents, Gorou's Elemental skill CD is decreased by 2s. This effect has a 10s cd.
- Sitting Hound: Steady as a Clock
The duration of Gorou's burst gets extended by 1s every time an active character obtains an elemental shard from a Crystallize reaction. Max extension is 3s.
- Mauling Hound: Fierce as Fire
Increases the Level of Inuzaka All-Round Defense by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
- Lapping Hound: Warm as Water
If there are 2 or 3 active Geo characters in the party, Gorou's burst would heal active characters within its AoE by 50% of Gorou's own DEF every 1.5s.
- Striking Hound: Thunderous Force
Increases the Level of Juuga: Forward Unto Victory by 3. The maximum upgrade level is 15.
- Valiant Hound: Mountainous Fealty
Increase CRIT DMG of all nearby party members' Geo damage for 12s after using skill or burst. The bonus is based on the number of Geo characters in your party, max 40%. The effect does not stack.
5. Gorou Genshin Impact Best Build
Overall, it is almost like Gorou is created to support Itto, the main unit in the banner. He has only one support build, as his damage potential is fairly low.
Gorou Best Weapon
Favonius Warbow is the best weapon for Gorou. It regenerates Gorou's Energy so that he can get enough energy for his burst. Elegy for the End and Sacrificial Bow are decent substitutes.
Gorou Best Artifacts
The Husk of Opulent Dreams x4 artifact set is the best to use on Gorou. It is a support-oriented set that gives the user DEF and GEO damage boost every time they hit an opponent with a Geo attack.
Gorou Best Team
Overall, Gorou would be the main support if you are building a Geo squad. His ability to boost Defense and Geo DMG bonus make him very useful when used with Defense scaling Geo Characters.
Premium Team: Gorou + Arataki Itto + Albedo + Raiden Shogun
Gorou is the main support of the team, boosting the damage of Itto and Albedo. His high burst cost allows Raiden to stack Sigils easier for her own burst. Albedo and Raiden Shogun can provide enough energy for the team to burst.
Players can substitute Albedo with Zhongli, Itto with Ningguang and Raiden Shogun with Xinyan.
F2P Team: Gorou + Noelle + Geo Traveler + Kaeya
Similar to the previous lineup, Gorou is the main Defense and Geo Support. Noelle would be the main DPS and healer of the team, while Geo Traveler will provide energy and damage with his skill and burst. Kaeya provides off-field Cryo support to the team and enables Crystalize.
