The OB34 patch of Free Fire has just come out, bringing a lot of balance changes and new additions. Unpopular characters get the most buff overall so that they can compete with the more popular ones. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the 5 best active abilities to use in Free Fire OB34.
1. Homer's Senses Shockwave
- Releases a drone towards the nearest enemy within a 100m frontal distance, creating a 5m-diameter pulse explosion which reduces movement speed by 60% and firing speed by 35%. Lasts for 5s. Creates 25 damage. CD: 90s.
Homer's ability is one of the most powerful skills ever released in Free Fire, and the first proper "attack ability" in the game. Usually, characters' abilities are just for defensive purposes or buffing stats. While its cooldown is somewhat long, correct usage allows the user to win the battle fairly easily.
The slows are the most powerful part of the skill, effectively preventing enemies from running or fighting back.
2. Dimitri's Healing Heartbeat
- Creates a 3.5m healing zone. Inside, users and allies recover 3HP/s. When downed, users and allies can self-recover to get up. Lasts for 15s, CD 60s.
Dimitri's skill is a powerful ability in team fights. It allows your teammates to recover by themselves while you provide cover fire. In OB34, Dimitri's ability will allow the self-recovering players to move and no longer lose HP. This is a huge buff and will further increase the character's effectiveness.
The skill can also be used in long range battles, where enemies can't get close to finishing the downed target. Players can just turn the aura on as insurance in the case they get knocked down.
3. Steffie's Painted Refuge
- Creates a 4m area that blocks throwables. Allies in the area will restore 10% armor durability every second and ammo damage taken from enemies will reduce by 20%. Lasts for 15s. CD: 60s. Effects do not stack.
In OB33, Steffie's active has been changed into a much more useful version, gaining reduced bullet damage and the ability to block throwables. However, the skill is still fairly underpowered, due to its rather long cooldown. The skill is also not that mobile, as the area does not follow when players move.
Painted Refuge's rework in the previous patch made the skill a perfect choice for support in Free Fire. Looks like Garena want to boost the support role, as the skill has received a slight buff in OB34. With a 30 seconds reduction in cooldown at all levels, the ability should be a top pick now.
4. Skyler's Riptide Rhythm
- Unleash a sonic wave forward that damages 5 Gloo Walls within 100m. CD 60s. Also, each Gloo Wall deployed will result in 9 HP recovery. Recovery effects do not stack.
Overall, this skill is fairly decent - it is worth using for the Gloo Wall damage alone and the healing is just the cherry on top. Skyler's ability used to have a lower cooldown, however, the new cooldown is definitely still manageable.
This ability is especially useful in the end phases of the game, where players put up gloo walls to fight at close quarters.
